As a ministry we endeavour to involve ourselves in the sympathetic understanding and teaching of people with developmental  learning disabilities  (mental handicap / mental retardation / intellectual disabilities).

It is important that our approaches and our work with and on behalf of people is properly and genuinely accountable and grounded in the appropriate professional field and discipline. Any work like our own with people with developmental learning / intellectual disability connects with an important area within cognitive and developmental psychology. It is only right that we make every effort to become familiar with and make use of the vital insights from this large field of educational research.

One of CR's  ministry aims or charitable objects is to carry out research in the area of special needs. This research is as important as, and goes on to inform, our practical work with people. We have a policy of updating all our relevant program models continually with insights from our research to ensure continued accountability and effectiveness in what we do.
