Compassionate Response is offering a Christian support ministry for families and carers in the Sheffield area who are caring for a disabled family member and who are looking for support from a Christian perspective.
The PFS group will be run by Revd. David Middleton (Director of CR) who is an ordained Peripatetic Special Needs Pastor in the Baptist church, and is the Honorary Learning Disabilities Chaplain for Sheffield Care (NHS) Trust.
The PFS group is open to anyone, from any denomination (or faith). The help and support offered however, is from a committed Christian perspective. It is envisaged that the PFS group would meet as regularly as the members want it to and would include praying for each other; an opportunity to unload; an opportunity to express hope's, fears, anger, frustration and doubts; an opportunity to minister to each other etc. This will be done from within a secure and supportive environment, amongst people who can truly empathise with each other. David Middleton would make himself available to PFS group members, 24 hrs. if required, to offer ministerial and pastoral support, home visits etc.

* Focus Service: Sheffield Church services are every other Sunday evening, i.e. fortnightly. For example there is a church service on Sunday the 5th October. Communion services are held throughout the year, but are not advertised in advance. The present service teaching theme is on Mission. For people with learning disabilities and their friends, all welcome.
Fellowship Group, meeting every Monday evening for Christian fellowship, support, teaching and worship. We meet at St. Paul’s Church and Centre, Norton Lees, Sheffield. 7pm - 8.30pm. . For church members only.
